Sorry 'bout that, needed a longer cord for the mike. I'm back, I know it has been awile, but I a real good excuse. . .give me moment. . .oh yea thats it, sorry I forgot my excuse. My excuse is, am I spelling that right why didn't I ever learn to spell, I was always the first one out on the spelling bee, they would say in fourth grade, or whatever grade it was, "Casey your word is science" I was like "s.i.n.e.s.e." and they were like "No Casey that is not how you spell science it is spelled s.c.i.e.n.c.e." and I was like "When did they put a c in a word that dosen't even sound like it ever had a c in it, did the french do this, damn the french they screw everything up" and storm off the stage to sit in the audience board ot of my mind, and if I fell asleep some stupid teacher would come over and say "Casey you need to be paying attention" why. . .why do I need to pay attention, dangit I don't care how the words are spelled, and by the time I learn you are going to want me to spell it in cursive.
Where was I, hummm. . .Oh yea. . .the excuse for not keeping you posted on the events of my life. It was because my computer was dyeing, thats not spelled right either, anyway my poor little 7.5 gig hard drive was slowly slipping byte by byte (that is spelled correctly by the way) in non working hell of 0 electirty. And slowly day by day, week by week data came up missing or not accesable, the system scan to block off the bad parts of your harddrive did not work, I turned it on and left it on for three days, it never got over 10 percent of the drive clean.
So all the power I had was to take 5 min to start up the computer and get to the internet, and yes it took 5 minutes to do that much, then hit the xanga and read and maybe comment, if my computer didn't lock up or just give up and die. So I checked my e-mail and xanga, no deal for the tm site, just not enough power. I needed a Scotty, if for no other reason then to just shout up "Thats all the power shes got captain" in a scottish accent.
Then something happened, I got pissed off, and grabbed the phone, called up gateway and said, what have you got, said I wanted it and boom, four days later the parts were on my kitchen table, and hour after that they were laying in a pile and my computer case was off. A few screws later and some minor cussing I had exchanged my 7.5gig hard drive for an 80 gig hard drive, I had exchanged one 64 dimm ram chip for two 128 dimm ram chips, and from their I stuck a cd/rw drive into the slot for my old cd drive, pulled some wires out of the back of the computer and put my old cd drive on top to lay comfortably naked ontop my computer case.
Prety nifty huh?
Then I had the fun job of re-loading all my software. Including Windows ME. Pain in the ss, did I spell that wrong, anyway after some time with tech support because they didn't tell me about the jumper on the new cd/rw drive, and tearing into my computer again I had Windows Me up and running.
Then I put in all the other software ecept quicken home and business 2002, because I had lost the disk, 15 bucks later and a phone call it is on its way. $15 is better then the $79 I paid for it so what the heck.
Then I had to go to the windows update site to get two years worth of updates and bug fixes, the gateway update site to get the new and improved drivers and such.
So for about 500 I have a brand new computer, ok so new guts same old computer, oh yea and 1hr on the hardware and something like 10 hr on the software.
sheesh la peets, is that french, damn the french

DOWN WITH THE FRENCH!!!
Oh and one other thing...you should go to alumni weekend. Cora thinks so too. She said so on her site. (in the comments)
DOWN WITH THE FRENCH. i didn't used to care one way or the other about the french until my us foreign relations teacher told us he hated the french. i was like, "why not?" so now i do. and every time it's brought to my attention, there's another durn good reason for it, too.
