  • Ok so you want the good news, my Uncles incision is fully closed. He will have a tracheotomy on Tuesday, and near the end of the week they will close up his legs and get them ready for prosthetics.

My Mom's surgery has been moved to Tuesday, and she will only be loosing her leg at about one third of the way down her shin from her knee, plenty of room for a prostatic.

Keep her in your prayers, mainly that she will stop smoking, with all the crap going on her life, it is one of the few things that bring her some means of pleasure.

Looked into a couple rehab centers for them, will know more as the week goes on. Left Colorado yesterday, will be in OR on Tuesday when these major surgeries are going on, that sucks, but if I don't take care of myself, I can't take care of them.

Mom is in good spirits, kinda forced a talk between her, Dad and me that needed to happen, ticked everyone off for awhile, but it is all good now, thats how my family works.

Thanks once again for the prayers, all of my family appritate it.

I myself am a little sad, and overwhelmed with that feeling of "I have no control and don't really have a clue what I am doing why am I here?"

We will see how it goes.

  • Well they have put off Mom's surgery a couple days, might happen on Sunday, I hope so cause I will be in Greely, Co on Sunday, and in Denver, CO on Saturday, yes that is today, I am about an hour out or so, close but not there.

It is confirmed that my Mom's right leg will be taken just below the knee.

They closed up my Uncles incision a little more, and did a little work on his legs, they probably won't close up his legs for a week of so, but they cleaned them and checked them. As bad as he is, he is on the best side of bad that he can be.

Family is all doing well, worried, tired, sad, and occasionally pissed off when it feels better to be that way then all the above.

Thanks for your prayers, my sister Sam, the pregnant one, is doing great as well, lots of praise for the healthy state of the unheathy in my family, we are keeping our eyes focused on Him, and are ready for His will to happen, and hopefully line up with our will. LOL isn't that how we always are.

  • Well folks, thanks again for praying.

My Uncle is doing well, as well as can be expected. Which is to say, he is as bad as he can be, but he is on the best of the bad side as one can be.

He is a fighter, and we know he struggles for life, and we appreciate his fight, we just hope his body can win the fight his mind, will, and strength have been engaged in.

As far as my Mom goes, her toes turns out to have Gangrene, a very bad infection, one that is vary hard to stop, so instead of just a couple toes they man have to take her whole foot, maybe even a good chunk of her leg.

That was supposed to happen today, but it did not, they had to do a few more tests, and because of those results they had to do a few more.

So now at this moment in time it looks like they will do it tomorrow evening.

They are pulling meds from my Uncle, heart and lung meds, testing the strength of both, seeing if his body can handle it.

We will see, thanks once again for your prayers.

I am in TX, take off in the morning for OR with CO in between.

Megan and Caleb are great, I am currently watching V is for Vendetta with Josh Marrono, Megan Hutchings, Rivka Elshiva Lueck, Abby Rose, and myself, once you get past the "All Conservatives are Religious zealots" it ain't bad.

  • If you ever have to call your Mom and tell her that they have to cut off her brothers legs, find someone else to do it.

I want to thank you all for your prayers.

For the quick breakdown of a rutured aorta, less then half of those who get a ruptured aorta even make it to the hospital, and less then half of those who make it to the hospital make it off the operating table alive, so my Uncle is in the top twenty percent.

The Aorta is an artery that runs out of the top of the heart to the feet. It branches off to the arms, kidneys and finally splits in two one becoming the femoral arerties that run into the legs.

My Uncle's rupture happened just below the kiddneys, the wall of his aorta became thin and swelled into a grapefruit sized ballon before popping.

In the process of fixing this thing, they pinch off the aorta just above the kiddneys for the duration of the surgery. Then they thread in a gortex tupe into the artery, and close the atery back up around it.

When they do this it leaves no blood flowing to everything below that spot. So my Uncle for about four and a half hours had no blood to his lower extremedies.

Because of this and the damage to the kiddneys because of this they put him on Dialises, (basically filtering his blood for him, cause his kiddneys don't work anymore).

His body was so weak and unstable from the surgery and the tissue in his lower legs dieing from the lack of blood that we had to make the decision to remove his legs above the knees to save his life. He was so weak they couldn't move him to the Operating Room so they packed up the OR and brought it to his hospital room, lobbed off his legs and moved it all back the OR.

Within hours his levels started returning to normal, and today things look very good. Of cource he could die at any time, from any number of side effects.

Today my Mom is going to an appointment to have her feet looked at, they may or may not cut off a couple of her toes, keep her in your prayers as well.

Jeeves I will be back in a couple days, maybe then.

  • Good news, due to an unfortunate series of breakdowns I got stuck in Denver for the weekend.

Yesterday my Aunt and a Cousin went out to my Moms house to go to my sisters baby shower. So I rode along with them and surprised everyone. I had a surprie my self, I saw for the first time two of my nieces from my only half brother. Shelby and Courtny, we had a great time.

I rode back to Denver with my Aunt and Glenda, this morning we had breakfast and my uncle wasn't feeling well.

We called the Ambulance and they went to the Brighton hospital. Just that they called the ambulance means it is serous.

Just got a call, he has a ruptured aorta, it sounds about as bad as it is.

So if you got a few seconds before swithching to another Xanga site say a quick prayer.

As far as my Mom goes, it looks like the are going to have to take the two little toes off on her right foot.

Life is swell, hope you are having a better day then I am.

  • . . . would make me real sad, and probably cause a great deal of anger.

I was getting a little emotional with the last post, which made it long so you didn't read it, so that is just as well.

Mom called while I was driving thru the big hills in N. Cali between Redding and Reno, so I didn't have service. She left a voicemail, and if you have called in the past few months and got my voice mail message, which is a song, and she just kept the same tune, and sung me a message right back.

It was wonderful, I nearly cryed.

Got a lot of driving to do, pray for my Mom.

  • This is not my foot, if it were I would be bragging and saying something like "You should see what the dog that bit me looks like."

Nor is it my Mom's foot, but she is the reason that I post such a picture. My Mom has a sore on her foot in about the same place, only hers has a hole thru it to the side of her foot. My Mom is a diabetic, try to remember that time so long ago when she almost died from that blood clot that mover from her leg to her lung, causing her to have a heard attack? The only thing that saved Mom at the time was that she had quite smoking six months prior to that, her lungs after over forty years of smoking had began to heal, and were strong enough to pull her thru. Well the one lasting issue from that episode where the Lord so graciously let her live was that the diabetes that she had had and had had under control for years went haywire. Each time they changed one of her meds, or the seasons change, or when any odd or numerous factors that our body naturally adapts to would happen it would throw her body into ever erratic glucose level changes.

It took years to finally get it under control again, by that time she had neuropathy, which is where the nerve ending in your feet and legs start to die. They don't just stop working though, they just keep sending signals of extreme pain for many years until they finally die out. So much as a cool breeze causes your foot to come alive with a pain of searing fire.

It was at this time that my sister and brother moved back into the house and they never having quit smoking, kept smoking. Well a tough time here and a tough time there Mom finally broke down and picked up one cigarette, and thats all it took, she was hooked again.

Now let me tell you right here and now, I don't care if you smoke, I don't care that my brother, sister, father, mother, smoke, I am firmly against the anti-smoking bans that all these stupid retarded citys and states keep putting up. If a fella wants to smoke, smoke. You can, but shouldn't inhibit his ability to do so. The same goes for him, he shouldn't inhibit your ability to not smoke, he should be considerate of you, as you should be of him, it is after all in the bible. And I don't believe in all the doom and gloom that people spread around about how it always causes cancer, and is the reason people have asthma, and that you can be allergic to it. Weather second hand, is worse then first hand, that is all just BS.

I do think its stupid and if given the choice one should not do it. It makes perfect sense that if you breath in smoke all your life that the filter will clog up sooner and go out quicker. But it does the same for all that girly freaking poop-are-we, insence, that crap your girls, and a few gay guys spray in the bathroom, over abundance of colognes, perfumes, and all that other smelly crap that is just doing a feeble attempt at covering up the natural smell of the wonderful world as it rots around us.

I prefer to smell the rot, I would rather walk into the bathroom and smell shit then Lysol, I would rather smell your sweaty unwashed in last six minutes to sixty hours body then perfume, cologne, and deodorant, I would rather . . . I am ranting, I will stop that and get back to the point. Right after I say, nobody cares about what I don't like to smell, all they care about is that they don't have to smell smoke. Selfish bastards.

Anyway that was the long way of saying that my Mom started smoking again, and one thing that smoking does do is take up the space that would normally be filled with oxygen, so you don't get it, oxygen that is. And when you don't get oxygen your blood vessels, especially the small ones constrict. This all leads to a decrease in the oxygen saturation levels in your deep tissue. One good thing it does is it more quickly kills off those nerve ending, so you don't feel them, and that does lead to a dramatic decrease in pain for someone with neuropathy. One bad thing it does is it more quickly kills off those nerve endings, so you don't feel them, and that does lead to not being able to feel your lower extremities, and a small sore that would have once easily been felt and taken care of goes unnoticed until it is to late, and then you have an open wound, usually filled with bacteria that eat away at the remaining tissue.

If not caught quickly, and even if caught quickly but you don't know what strain of bacteria it is and thus can not get the right anti-bacteria to it, leads to massive amount of tissue dyeing, sometimes this takes years, sometimes months. One good method of catching up to a bad wound is to cut away all the dead tissue, but to be sure you got it all you have to cut where there is still live tissue, and that hurts something awful. If you can not quickly get ahead of it that way, you keep cutting higher and higher, till they have eventually cut as far up the legs as they can and the tissue in the trunk of your body starts to die as well.

As you can see, it starts out small, diabetes that is, but in the end its what kills you.

I love my Mom, and obviously want her to live to see my children full grown, but the Lord may not give me that opportunity, and that . . .

  • Thanks for blowing my cover Steph, I do remember you now Val, as a matter of fact I am on my way across the coutry on another investigation that takes me from Chattanooga, TN to Fresno, Hayward, and Sacramento, hows that for getting the penut butter on the sandwich, and not the fingers?

  • My Mama just got out of the hospital today, she is doing well. She went in for a DNC, if you don't know what that is then ask a girl, and if she gets a frightened look on her face and runs screaming, well, she knows what it is and knows it isn't fun.

I was a bit worried last night, she was having a hard time comming out from under the annastashia, yes I know that a girls name from the former former soviet union, but work with me here folks, I can't spell and its close, so when my sis called me today and told me she was fine and at home, I did my best to rush out of Nashville cause the traffic was real heavy and I wanted to get out on the open road so I could call and talk to my Mom.

Turns out she is fine, and while she has a problem, its not anything life threatening.

In leaving Nashville, I missed the opportuity to see the great and beautiful Ally Bubb, Jamie (soon not to be) Kinny, and possably Erika Johns, who has a town named after her in Pennslyvania.

I am in Blairsville, GA tonight stealing someones wireless signal, and when I unload in the morning, I will head with the last of this 4 stop load to Rome, GA. Things could be worse, they could be better, and by darned I seem to be making some progress with Jesus.

I give thanks to the great Tonya Smoker, who while sleeping thru our conversation last night allowed me to tell myself things I needed to hear but was avoinding listening to myself say for awile.

  • Well I am a lucky man, I did get to see the wonderful Kurt Trine, it was quite a blessing, and along those same lines I got to talk to both Cora and Matthew Stillman the very next day. I was hoping to stop and see Cora and Joam in Sacramento, but I found a cut off that allowed me to be out of Cali-freaking-ornia in 250 miles, rather then 800, and at the lame speed limit for trucks of 55 and my tendency to either speed or fall asleep at that speed it saved me a good ten hours to get out of that blasted state. It does have some really great people living in it though, including the above there is Lydia Bittner, Peter Shulke, Peter Liptack, Joy Veale, Elizabeth the beautiful, and of course the most bestest of them all Patrick Reid.

My next load is from White City, OR to Farmers Branch, TX(near Dallas), Nashville, TN(home to some very beautiful supermodels I know), Blairsville and Rome GA. Something like 3000 miles, good stuff.
