  • So I have a lot that I could say, or I could just claim to be too tired to type today . . .

Yesterday I had an odd day.  It was dark, murkey, and raining off and on all day yesterday.  It was a good day for me, bad weather always makes me feel good.  I really do hate the sun that much.  I could live without it preaty easy.  I don't know the sunny days are always so boring and hot.  I love the beuty of a cloudy day, of snow, wind, rain, sleet, and hail.  Bring on the bad weather I realish it.

Well I was feeling a little perkey yesterday and was feely a little ornery.  I had a good day letting people know what I thought about different situations.  They may not have liked it but I enjoyed it greatly.

Well I feel the pull of the Lord, their is some worship going on downstairs and it beakons to me, so more later.

  • So guess what?

No I did not have my nose pierced.

On Sunday I not only had a good day, but it was a great day.  It was damn near one of the best days of my life.

I got home from work at somewhere around 2:30 am.  As I am sitting on the couch one of my room mates wakes up says in a very sleepy voice "Happy Birthday Casey."  And from there it just got better.

Next on the list at 9:30 am I was woke up by a text message in my phone that said "Happy Birthday" from Christine, and on and on all day long.

I was planning on having a few people over for dinner that night so I cooked me up a big breakfast.  It was good, and my roomy till he leaves for Turkey Kris made up some I,RON not iron but IpauseRON.  Great stuff.  I made up some Turkish coffee, nice and strong.

I cleaned house some, then some more, vegged in front of the TV.  Got a call from my family and they all told me Happy Birthday.  My mom told me the story of the 12th, and the early morning of the 13th of June back in 1977.  Remind me to tell you all about it.  After she was done telling me the story there was this awkward pause and she said, "Well here's you sister" and I could tell she was crying, and I said OK.  My sister Sam says "What did you do to make her cry?" and I said "what did she do to make me cry." with tears in my eyes.

awkward pause (whipping tears out of my eyes just thinking back about it)

Started getting things ready for the dinner and then it was paused from four till eight.  Around six I start getting things ready again, the meal was buried chicken.  Which is breaded and fried chicken breasts, in a roaster with scalloped potatoes poured over the top.  I made it for my sister once when I was bored.  Then I poured out the oil from the chicken and threw some frozen green beans in the skillet, and fried them till they felt like they were fresh steamed green beans.(Thanks to G for that idea)  Then some fry bread.  Which is just like it sounds, you get bread dough, flaten it out and fry it in a skillet with butter(no fake crap here folks if you arn't going to use real butter don't even bother).

Then I got a call that they couldn't show till later, some speaker had showed up and their gig was extended.  So I waited trying to keep everything fresh.  Gave me time to clean up the dishes though.  They showed up at nearly ten.  I got everything out and we ate.  For dessert I let them have some of Kris's IRON.  Heee heee Heee, they can tell you about that.

Then we talked for awile, and I told them why I had invited them specifically over.  We watched part of a movie, turned it off and threw in some classic black and white comedy.  Two of the four fell asleep and one of the remaining two was bored.  So after only one show we sent everyone home.  This is around two am again.

My day up till they showed up was great, and with them it pushed it up beyond that.

It has been such a long time since I had a great day it was just freaking refreashing.  After they had left and I stacked the dishes so that I could do them the next day I went into my room, shut the door and wrote in my journal.  I finished that up and laid there thinking about the blessing the Lord gives me, I don't deserve one good thing in this life, and he gives me good stuff everyday.

(I am really looking like a big sap now, so why not finish it off)

I cried a joyful cry to the lord just thanking him over and over again.  I can probalby count the times I have cried out of sheer joy on one hand.  And all of them have been to the Lord, and well worth it.

I pray with hope and expectation that all of you have had and get to have more "nothing but tears and snot" crys with Jesus.

  • I had something good for today.  In short I will say only a few things myself, that everyday from the worst day of my life to now has gotten better.  On a level marked out by the following list, I am almost up to a "bad day".  With in a couple weeks I may even attain an "ok day".

    Best day of my life.

    Great day.

    Good day.

    OK day.

    Bad day.

    Worst day of my life.

But enough about me, yesterday we lost a great American hero.  My hero.  Ronald Reagan, the man who single handedly started the end of communism, who with a few words and a ton of conviction brought an end to the Cold War.  A man of Godly inspiration and character.  Ladies and gentlemen lets remember the humble, honorable, kick ass man of God Ronald Reagan.

                            1911-2004

Here are a few quotes stolen from www.foxnews.com.

This is a sad hour in the life of America.

A great American life has come to an end.

I have just spoken to Nancy Reagan, on behalf of our whole nation Laura and I offered her and the Reagan family our prayers and our condolences.

Ronald Reagan won America's respect with his greatness, and won its love with his goodness.  He had the confidence that comes with conviction, the strength that comes with character, the grace that comes with humility, and the humor that comes with wisdom.

He leaves behind a nation he restored, and a world he helped save.  During the years of President Reagan America laid to rest an era of division and self doubt, and because of his leadership the world laid to rest an era of fear and tyranny.

Now in laying our leader to rest we say thank you.

He always told us that for America the best is yet to come, we comfort ourselves in the knowledge that this is true for him too.  His work is done and now a shinning city awaits him

    May God Bless Ronald Reagan

    President George W. Bush

Nancy Reagan: "My family and I would like the world to know that President Ronald Reagan has passed away after 10 years of Alzheimer's disease at 93 years of age. We appreciate everyone's prayers."

Michael Reagan: I pray that as America reflects on the passing of my Dad, they will remember a man of integrity, conviction and good humor that changed America and the world for the better. He would modestly say the credit goes to others, but I believe the credit is his.

Former President George H.W. Bush: "The most I learned from him was his adherence to principle and to fight for them. ... He used the term 'evil empire' and all his critics were ringing their hands, saying he doesn't know how to conduct foreign affairs ... sure enough peace happened on his watch."

Former President Gerald Ford: "Betty and I are deeply saddened by the passing of our longtime friend, President Reagan. Ronald Reagan was an excellent leader of our nation during challenging times at home and abroad. We extend our deepest condolences and prayers to Nancy and his family."

Former President Bill Clinton: "Hillary and I will always remember President Ronald Reagan for the way he personified the indomitable optimism of the American people, and for keeping America at the forefront of the fight for freedom for people everywhere. It is fitting that a piece of the Berlin Wall adorns the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington."

Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass.: "Ronald Reagan's love of country was infectious. Even when he was breaking Democrats' hearts, he did so with a smile and in the spirit of honest and open debate."

Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert: "How ironic that he died on the eve of the sixtieth anniversary of the D-Day invasion? He shared the vision of those brave men who risked and sometimes lost their lives, so that others could live in freedom.  That vision lives today."

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi: "All Americans are grateful for Ronald Reagan's great leadership and service to our country and admired his special grace, optimism, and humor. He served our country with dignity and he died with dignity."

Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani: "I've studied him more than any other man in modern politics. ... He changed the direction of the world on the strength of his convictions."

Calif. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger: "It is easy to see how profoundly President Reagan changed the world. He made it safer, more free and gave hope and opportunity to millions.

Newt Gingrich: "All free people stand on Reagan's shoulders. His principled policies proved that free markets create wealth, that the rule of law sustains freedom, and that all people everywhere deserve the right to dream, to pursue their dreams, and to govern themselves."

Sen. John McCain: "In the more than thirty years that have passed since I first met [Ronald Reagan], I have never lived a day that I wasn't grateful for the privilege of the Reagans' friendship, and the strength of his faith in America that inspired my own, and so many others."

Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle: "America has lost an icon. Ronald Reagan's leadership will inspire Americans for generations to come.  His patriotism and devotion to our country will never be forgotten."

Secretary of State Colin Powell: "President Reagan fueled the spirit of America. His smile, his optimism, his total belief in the ultimate triumph of democracy and freedom, and his willingness to act on that belief, helped end the Cold War and usher in a new and brighter phase of history."

Republican National Committee chairman Ed Gillespie: "Ronald Reagan was a president of great historic impact who led the United States with strength and conviction, and the positive impact of his policies is still felt today here and around the world. More than two decades after he was first elected president, the Republican Party still bears his imprint. Because Ronald Reagan lived, people across the globe live in greater freedom and prosperity."

Wanita Trader, a leader at the First Christian Church in Dixon, Ill., which Reagan attended: "He was our hero, he was our hometown boy made good. At the church we feel that we nurtured a president and we are pretty proud of the fact."

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass: "On foreign policy he will be honored as the president who won the Cold War, and his 'Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall' will be linked forever with President Kennedy's 'Ich bin ein Berliner.' President Reagan and Nancy were always very gracious to the Kennedy family and they are both very much in our thoughts and prayers in this difficult time."

Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm: "President Reagan transformed our nation's psyche with his optimism and positive vision. He was a strong leader who made a lasting mark on our nation's history. He was gentle and kind and every American can learn from his example."

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas: "An unequaled champion of freedom, smaller government and market-oriented principles, he has always been an inspiration to me. Perhaps most importantly, this happy warrior faced the gravest threat of his time and made the difficult decisions that ultimately won the Cold War."

Sen. Chuck Hagel, R.-Neb.: "Ronald Reagan was a unique leader who understood the greatness and goodness of America. History will judge him well. He led our nation through historic challenges and changes with unyielding confidence and courage. Ronald Reagan embodied the best of America. He was the American spirit."

New York Republican Gov. George Pataki:
"The sun has set on the remarkable life of the great man who reminded us it is always morning in America. President Ronald Wilson Reagan will always be remembered as a man of unwavering principle whose sense of hope, optimism and opportunity appealed to the best in Americans."

Actor Danny Glover: "We all know Reagan's legacy, from the Iran-Contra affair to the funding of the Nicaraguan military in which over 200,000 people died. The groundwork for the move steadily to the right happened with the Reagan administration. People want to elevate him to some mythic level; they have their own reason for doing that."

Johnny Grant, honorary mayor of Hollywood and a longtime friend of Reagan from his Hollywood days: "He was a man who loved his country. I don't know of anybody who's done more for this country and the entertainment industry."

Lord thank you for true leadership examples in our lifes, may we be humble and willing enough to pull from their greatness and add to our selfs so that someday we may be able to stand and say I am as good as David, or Paul, or Peter, or Ronald.  Amen.

Second that I never see this man face to face, or I will be xanga'ing from jail.

  • Ok so I saw the freakest thing yesterday driving down the road.

Actually why don't I set the day up for you.  A buddy of mine wanted to look for a new car, or a used car that he could call new to him.  So I grab him and anouther buddy and we head to Tyler.

We drive around all day to diffent lots and looked at different cars, chased away more sales people then we asked for help, had a good time.

Finished off with the mall run, look at new electronics in the Shack.  Went for coffee at cool beans.  Buddy number 2 got a call and needed to pick his sister up from Dallas, so we head to wal-mart for new underware and out of town for dallas.

The road I wanted to take was Hwy 64, but I took Hwy 69 which goes south rather then west.  Well we ended up on Hwy 175 which got us there.  This road is where the freaky stuff happened, I drove by a car sitting on the side of the road, its front end pointing away from the hwy, in a simi-circle around the trunk were a line of vacume cleaners, with a few aranged on the trunk lid of the car.  Now I don't know about you, but I have never seen a road side vacume cleaner sales person.  I was quite shocked.  I smiled laughed and drove on down the road.

We get to Dallas, I-20 and I pass some people to get to my exit and boom, red and blues, no mercy, 21 over, 81 in a 60!!!!!!!!!!  Who in the crap drops the speed of an interstate to 60mph for crying out loud.

Then cheddars and the best part of the day, on the way home poped in a couple old cd's I ain't listened to and we sang country style hyms all the way home.  It was great.

  • So here I am walking through this nice peaceful feild, filled with flowers and weeds and tall grasses.  I have been here before, and I am comfortable here.  I can open my mind in this feild, and relax.  I kind of retreat here when I can.  I dream of getting a brush hog and mowing it all down.  Maybe even a tractor with scissors and a hay fork.  I dream of  the day that the feild would look beutiful.  My mind is wondering in and out and I am happy.

All of a sudden armed men are rushing me from all directions and I am starteled out of my dream.  The first thought that crosses my mind is "where is my armor, where is my sword?"  I have nowhere to turn and no weapons.  There is no way I can fight this fight and win, what do I do?  I stand there and try to look brave, the men are almost on top of me when the thought hits me.  "Daddy, where are you?"  I yell it out. . .and again . . . the terror is readable on my face, I am scared, and alone.  But I am not afraid of the death that is about to take me, but that I had forgoten about my Father.

Then out of no where there he is by my side.  I grab him and hug him tight.  I had missed him so much.  When I open my eyes and wipe away my tears of shame, the men are gone.  I fall to my knees and beg my father once again to forgive me for my lazyness and neglect.  I know that there is no reason for him to forgive me, and I know that I deserve the death that he just saved me from.

He looks down at me on my knees and says "Stand up, I forgive you, you know that my love for you is so stong I will always forgive you, turn from your evil ways and come back to me."

I stand and stare at my feet in shame.

He raises my chin, looks me in the eye, and says "I love you"

I smile, knowing that I am safe, and ask him for his help in keeping me on the strait and narrow.

  • So the team had there retreat in colorado.  Guess what happened, I asked for snow and once again got it.  Jesus loves me so much.  I cried over it again.

I also dressed up in my "For weddings, funerals, or free food" outfit.  Basicaly black camos with a nice dress shirt.  I had told the team, or a good chunk of them that I wouldn't be at the dinner because I didn't have any good clothes, so when I show up I get all the ohhs and ahhs.  Very nice.

They told me I looked good, I told them I know.  It may have came accross prideful, but I know that I can look good if I want to, I just don't want to.  I mean who do I have to impress.  I could dress pimpin every day and then I would be Mr Pimpin.  Not Casey Glen Russell BlackWolf Fox.  I would rather most people to see me as me.  In fact I belive that honesty is great, and sometimes people use the way they dress to hide who they really are.  Not me.

I was able to avoid most pictures.  So no blackmail can go on.

Lets see what else happened, oh I missed the whitewater rafting trip because of my new tatoo. . .

I will try to get picks up.

Umm I went to a Reverse Mormon double date with a 40 year old married woman with five kids.  Bryan and I went to see stomp and Bryan found out she wanted to see it, so we drug her along.  She is Carsons mom,  I very kind and loving woman.  She enjoyed it very much.

What may you ask did she enjoy very much, well of cource its Stomp.  Yup I got to see Stomp.  It was in OKC, OK.  Lots of fun.

Well I have preatty randome, and probably left some stuff out, and didn't include enough detail in what I did write.  I hope to have more time and be better at this.

    Til then,

  • Ok so I don't really mind people hating me, and I did enjoy the ride.  I of cource always enjoy driving in new  places and seeing new sights.  I spoke with the bitter ones, of which Paul was not one.

I just felt my pride hurt because I always am so good with that stuff, and I have been braggin latley, and not giveing God the glory, so I deserved to be humbled.  Thats why I felt bad, because I had gotten a major rebuke. But I am fine now.  I have had a peace about China, my wife, and my new job prospects.  I think I got most stuff under control.

So anyway, we are at the last event of the year Baton Rough, LA.  I may have mentioned my hate of the french, and there culture, so now I am here trying to get them saved, I am such a great guy. . .

Anyway, I am good now, and I just want to call my mom.

    So later, BlackWolf
